Cerulean Studios just recently release a new Trillian Astra 4.1 Beta client to the public. This new version offers enhanced social networking features in relation to Twitter and Facebook plugins, along with Windows 7 enhancements and various other improvements.
I recently migrated back to Trillian after Astra 4.0 was finally released. Before then I was using Digsby since it had been quite a while since Trillian 3 had seen a major update. While Digsby is still a strong contender in the multi-protocol messaging software arena, I think Trillian has come back very strong with it’s finalized Astra client.
There were just a few nitpicks here and there that I had with the initial 4.0 release; features that I would have liked to have seen, and iffy Facebook chat support. However, they’ve gone even further with 4.1 to add in a lot of great features, and expand their support of the social networking sites. If you haven’t used Trillian in a while I’d highly recommend giving it another shot, I think it’s the best out there right now for what it does.
