According to a recent update on The Download Squad it appears that Google is preparing for a more full featured extensions system coming very soon, with an online gallery for extensions. Also, according to a posting on Google Groups by Neil Baum from the Chrome development team extensions are potentially arriving in Chrome’s beta channel as soon as this coming month.
This is all certainly a welcome addition to Chrome, and very exciting. As previously stated in another post, while I think Chrome is a bit light in their feature set now, with the addition of a fully functional extension system 2010 could be a very interesting year for this product indeed.
